Journalist Cristian Pérez Ojeda was beaten and threatened after being kidnapped by two hooded men on the night of 29 February. This took place in the city of Los Cabos, in the Mexican state of Baja California.
The director of the website Sin Censura Noticias told Fundamedios that on the night of Saturday 29th he was on board a vehicle driven by his wife to her business in the north of the city. Upon arriving at the laundry, he noticed two suspicious guys in a black Ford van.
«I suspected. Something seemed strange to me and I told my wife to go into the laundry room that I would go to the pharmacy. Once inside, I noticed that the men moved around in the car, I bought some medicine and, when I came out, I already visualized the subjects wearing ski masks and they cornered me with the car. I ran out, but they disabled me, pointed at me, threatened me with a knife and forced me into the vehicle,» explained Pérez.
The journalist explained that the men put a mask on him and forced him to hide in the back seat of the truck. «We got to a dirt road, they pulled me down and asked me, ‘What do you do?'» He indicated that he has a laundry.
«Don’t be an asshole, we’ll fuck you up! What do you do?», the guys yelled, as they hit the communicator on the head.
«I have a newspaper,» answered Pérez. «Who pays you to publish that shit?» they questioned him. And he answered that nobody.
Pérez explained that when he responded, the kidnappers started kicking him, especially in the face. Then they turned on a cell phone flashlight and questioned him about his name and profession.
«At that moment one of the guys said to me ‘we’ll fuck you up’. One went to get the knife from the pilot’s side and another went to the car from the co-pilot’s side. At that moment I realized that there was mount on both sides of the road and I ran out with all my strength and looked back. They started flashing their lights, but on the opposite side of the car from where I was running and I heard one of them say ‘he peeled off (ran away),» described the victim.
After fleeing, the journalist hid in the bush, from where he saw a hot dog cart with two older adults. They hid him in the back of their truck and drove him to a road near their house.
After undergoing a review at the hospital, he made the respective complaints. Pérez has no doubt that this aggression is the order of the new mayor of Los Cabos, Arminda Castro, because he worked in that municipality from 2014 to 2018. «But, we kept publishing in our website the complaints of the community and they claimed that I worked in the City Hall, but I published the accusations».
The journalist assures that the publication that unleashed the attack was the denunciation on February 27 made on his website, which states that the union leader of the workers of the City Hall, José Ruiz Cacho, «negotiated behind closed doors with the mayor, Arminda Castro, a salary increase of 5%, when his commitment to the union members was at least 20%».
In September 2018, when the new authorities arrived, the director of Communications of the City Council, Héctor Miranda, wrote a message to him through WhatsApp that said: «Canijo, calm down in your publications that the boss is already pissed off and I do not advise you to want to meet her in anger». After that, Pérez was fired, and he filed a lawsuit for wrongful termination.

Encapuchados secuestran y golpean a periodista en Los Cabos, Baja California
El periodista Cristian Pérez Ojeda fue golpeado y amenazado después de haber sido secuestrado por dos sujetos encapuchados la noche del pasado 29 de febrero. Esto se produjo en la ciudad de Los Cabos, en el estado mexicano de Baja California.
El Director del portal Sin Censura Noticias informó a Fundamedios que la noche del sábado 29 iba a bordo de un vehículo conducido por su esposa con dirección al negocio de ella, en el norte de la urbe. Al llegar a la lavandería, notó a dos sujetos sospechosos en una camioneta negra marca Ford.
«Yo sospeché. Algo me pareció raro y le dije a mi esposa que entrara a la lavandería que yo iría a la farmacia. Una vez dentro, me di cuenta de que los sujetos se movieron en el carro, compré unos medicamentos y, cuando salí, ya visualicé a los sujetos con pasamontañas y me arrinconaron con el carro. Salí corriendo, pero me inutilizaron, me apuntaron, me amenazaron con un cuchillo y me obligaron a subir al vehículo», explicó Pérez.
El periodista relató que los hombres le colocaron un pasamontañas y lo obligaron a esconderse en el asiento trasero de la camioneta. «Llegamos a una carretera de tierra, me bajaron y me preguntaron: ‘¿a qué te dedicas?'». Él indicó que tiene una lavandería.
«¡No seas pendejo, te vamos a chingar! ¿A qué te dedicas?», increpaban los tipos, mientras golpeaban en la cabeza al comunicador.
«Tengo un periódico«, respondió Pérez. «¿Quién te paga para publicar esas chingadas?», le interrogaron. Y él respondió que nadie.
Pérez explicó que cuando respondió, los secuestradores empezaron a patearlo, sobre todo en la cara. Luego, encendieron la linterna de un celular y lo interrogaron sobre su nombre y profesión.
«En ese momento uno de los sujetos me dijo ‘ya te vamos a chingar’. Uno se fue a buscar el cuchillo por el lado del piloto y otro fue al carro por el lado del copiloto. En ese momento me di cuenta de que había monte a ambos lados de la carretera y salí corriendo con todas mis fuerzas y mirando para atrás. Ellos empezaron a alumbrar con las luces del carro, pero al lado contrario de donde yo iba corriendo y escuché cuando uno de ellos dijo ‘¡se nos peló (fugó)!'», describió la víctima.
Luego de huir, el periodista se escondió en el monte, desde donde vio un carrito de venta de perros calientes con dos adultos mayores. Ellos lo escondieron en la parte trasera de su camioneta y lo trasladaron hasta una carretera cercana a su casa.
Tras someterse a una revisión en el hospital, hizo las denuncias respectivas. Pérez no tiene dudas de que esta agresión es orden de la nueva alcaldesa de Los Cabos, Arminda Castro, debido a que él trabajaba en ese Ayuntamiento desde 2014 hasta 2018. «Pero, seguíamos publicando en nuestro portal las denuncias de la colectividad y me reclamaban que trabajaba en el Ayuntamiento, pero publicaba las denuncias».
El periodista asegura que la publicación que desató el ataque fue la denuncia del pasado 27 de febrero hecha en su portal, la cual expone que el líder sindical de los trabajadores del Ayuntamiento, José Ruiz Cacho, «negoció a puerta cerrada con la alcaldesa Arminda Castro un aumento salarial del 5%, cuando su compromiso con los sindicalizados fue de mínimo el 20%».
En septiembre de 2018, cuando las nuevas autoridades llegaron, el director de Comunicación Social del Ayuntamiento, Héctor Miranda, le escribió un mensaje vía WhatsApp que decía: «Canijo, bájale una raya a tus publicaciones que la jefa ya se encabronó y no te aconsejo que la quieras conocer enojada». Luego de eso despidieron a Pérez y él interpuso una demanda por despido injustificado.
